There is spectacular wildlife and superb safaris. Zambia has 19 wildlife reserves and in South Luangwa boasts one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world, with the concentration of game around the Luangwa River and it ox bow lagoons among the most intense in Africa.
Lower Zambezi National Park is Zambia's newest park and as such is still relatively underdeveloped, but the opportunities to get close to game wandering in and out of the Zambezi channels are spectacular.
Zambia has three distinct seasons: December to April is warm and wet; May to August is cool and dry and September to November is hot and dry. Average temperatures in summer range from 25C to 35C and in winter from 6C to 24C.
VISAS: Any tourist travelling to Zambia as an individual or in a group on a pre-arranged package tour through a foreign tour-operator or travel agent in conjunction with a local operator will be issued with a Fee Waived Visa at port of entry to Zambia.

Sussi Lodge - Victoria Falls
Consists of 10 luxurious tree houses set amongst ebony trees on the Zambezi River. Facilities include an outdoor pool and dining room both with a river view.
Chuma House - Victoria Falls
An exclusive luxury villa which accommodates up to 4 guests. Located downstream from Sussi Lodge on the banks of the Zambezi. has a private outdoor pool, outdoor verandah and dining room. Comes complete with chef and housekeeper.
Lechwe Plains Tented Camp - Lochinvar National park
Situated on Chunga Lagoon this luxury tented camp consists of six spacious tents, each with private facilities. Activities include sunset mokoro trips on the lagoon, cultural visits to the nearby fishing village and walking safaris on the open plains.
Kulefa Tented Camp - Lower Zambezi National Park
Situated in the game-rich Lower Zambezi is this secluded eco-friendly safari camp. Here you will get a chance to view leopard, elephant, lion, buffalo, zebra and other game by boat, canoe, safari vehicle, on foot or from the verandah of your own tent, each with private facilities.
Puku Ridge Tented Camp - South Luangwa National Park
Offers six walk-in tents, each with private facilities. Named after a species of antelope, this camp is set amongst the trees and overlooks the sweeping expanse of the Kakumbi Valley.
Chichele Presidential Lodge - South Luangwa National Park
Formerly a private retreat for Zambian President Kenneth Kuanda this elegant "gentleman's lodge" occupies one of the most breathtaking sites in South Luangwa. Enjoy the grace of the last century in this beautifully restored house.
Walking Safaris - South Luangwa National Park
A chance to explore the Chibembe Concession of South Luangwa National Park. This concession is located 95km north of Chichele Presidential Lodge in a prime game viewing area. Choose from a traditional Zambian walking safari in the Mbulu area (with accommodation in reed and thatch huts) or sleep on a tree house platform (complete with retractable rope ladders) in the Kasansanya area. Both camps are rustic but with comfortable beds, delicious camp dining and expert staff.
